Linux
This page lists the values of the AladdinSDS configuration that differ on Linux. The TOML sections and their options are the same on every platform and are described in the Configuration reference; the Windows counterparts are on the Windows page.
Configuration File Location
The .deb package installs the service into /usr/lib/AladdinSDS and places the configuration file in the same folder:
/usr/lib/AladdinSDS/config.toml
Editing the file requires sudo.
Platform-Specific Values
| Option | Section | Linux value |
|---|---|---|
| Installation folder | none | /usr/lib/AladdinSDS, set by the .deb package |
downloadPath | [agent] | "/var/lib/AladdinSDS/download" (recommended; the default is the relative path "download/") |
linuxPath | [updater] | "/usr/bin/datalogic-sds-updater" (default) |
See downloadPath and linuxPath for the type, default and description of each option. The [updater] section applies only where the SDS Updater component is installed.
The downloadPath directory must be writable by the service and have enough disk space for package downloads.
Applying Changes
The service runs as the systemd unit aladdin-sds.service. After saving config.toml, restart the unit and check that it is active:
sudo systemctl restart aladdin-sds.service
sudo systemctl status aladdin-sds.service
The full procedure, from opening the file with nano to verifying the status, is in the Linux installation guide. Back up config.toml before editing it: an invalid file can prevent the service from starting.
Logs
The verbosity of the service log is set by logLevel in the [agent] section and is the same on every platform. The location of the log files on Linux is not documented yet.
